Until recently, post-occupancy evaluations have assessed and evaluated buildings with respect to the physical environment and its durability. Now, many businesses are under pressure to justify all expenditures with respect to core business goals. JR & Co and Biofilic, LLC are developing a management tool for buildings that will address roofing and green roofing with respect to core business goals. This tool, will prove most valuable when used for all the building design, not just roofing. We have developed the framework for building performance evaluation (BPE) but say "we are developing" because the full benefit from such a management tool can only be realized with input from all key stakeholders in a workshop type setting. This process starts at the pre-design stage.

Some of our customers have wondered why JR & Co would hire a PhD to come to work in the roofing industry. You will have to be the judge of that. Hasn't roofing come a long way?
If you would like to learn more about this program or schedule an exploratory workshop, email me at dale@jrroofinginc.com or at d.ball@biofilic.com.

Dale Ball, PhD, GRP

Building Management Tip: Get to know your contractors

The bidding process encourages mediocrity. Let me say that again! The bidding process encourages mediocrity! This may be the most important building management tip you'll ever receive.

JR and Co is coming off of their best year ever. One of the strategies that made that possible is a rule we follow:

If your competitor does something and you're doing it, then stop doing it right away!

We asked our self why should we participate in a process that forces us to look for ways to cut corners. That's why now we insist on getting to know our potential customers first. We sit down with them and ask each other questions to make sure we are a mutual fit to do business so that we don't waste each others time.

By following this process, we have heard some surprising reasons our customers have trusted us with their roofing needs. Recently, when asked "why did you buy from us"?, a lady told me she bought a commercial roof from us because "you were patient with my mother and kind to my daughter"! There are many more stories I could tell but, we have asked our customers to tell you instead. Check out the video testimonials in my previous blog. We have more of them scheduled to shoot this week.

Let's make this a great week!
Dale

Dale Ball, PhD, GRP
dale@jrroofinginc.com

JR and Co Testimonials

We work with only two kinds of customers: 1) those who are unhappy with their roofing situation whatever the reason, and 2) those who have been happy with their current roofing company but who are always looking for improvement and will go to great lengths to get there.

Here are two of my customers who represent both and what they say about JR & Co!

Alpha Gamma Rho

Superior Moving and Storage

I would love to know what you think about them!

Dale Ball
dale@jrroofinginc.com
c 816.500.7019
